If you live in the north west of England, or happen to be on your holidays in the area, then Lees Games is a must-visit.
The shop reminds me very much of The Game Zone in Stoke, in that it is ‘retro pure’.
A classic British shop style, with counter, more expensive stuff at the back, and a plethora of games from 8-bit and beyond.
Lee himself is a Spectrum fanatic, and once held one of the largest collections in the UK until he sold it to a gaming museum.
It’s always nice as an older retro gamer to meet people that have a fondness for Commodore 64, Sinclair Spectrums, and even the Amstrad CPC 464.
I’ve been to the shop on Morecambe seafront a few times now, and have walked away happily spending £100 or more each time on various consoles and accessories.
Is Lees Games Worth Traveling for Retro?
Absolutely it is. It is one of the better retro stores in the UK. And always, as I have found, because there are a couple of other retro sellers nearby, this seems to bring the best out of retro game store owners. And this store easily comes out on top in the area.
You can find Lees Games right on the seafront at 280 Marine Rd Central, Morecambe LA4 5BY.
